Strategy Report

Abstract can help you draft your strategy plan with messaging, tactics, and mitigation.

Updated this week

šŸ’” Generating a Strategy Report may take 1-2 minutes to complete.
Each time you generate a Strategy Report, Abstract re-reads your Public Footprint, your uploaded documents, and all jurisdictions available in your workspace. This ensures your report always reflects the most up-to-date information, but it also means that generation can take a while. Please wait while the system generates the latest results.

Overview

Strategy Reports help you develop recommendations and next steps for specific policy items. They combine your Public Footprint, your uploaded materials, your provided context, and Abstract’s policy intelligence to produce clear, actionable insights.

Each Strategy Report builds on your existing understanding of a bill or regulation and provides guidance on how to respond, position, or plan around the policy. It can be used to support internal strategy sessions, client briefings, or policy engagement planning.

How It Works

When you generate a Strategy Report, ā€œAbstract reads your Public Footprint, your uploaded documents, provided context, and the text of the selected policy item. It then uses that information to create a tailored set of recommendations for your organization or client.

The report includes
• A summary of the selected policy item
• A strategic analysis focused on organizational impact and positioning
• Recommendations for action, communication, or collaboration
• Links to supporting evidence drawn from your uploads and public references

Each Strategy Report updates automatically when re-run, so your analysis always reflects the latest available context.

Creating a Strategy Report

  1. Click + New

    1. From the left-hand navigation bar, select + New

  2. Click ā€œGenerateā€

    1. From the start menu page, click ā€œGenerateā€ on the Strategy Report option

  3. Input Report Settings

    1. Select the Policy Item: Use the search bar to look up a specific bill, for example ā€œAB 656 (CA)ā€ or ā€œHR 1234 (Federal)ā€. Abstract will retrieve the bill text and related context automatically.

    2. Add Additional Instructions: In the natural language prompt field, you can guide Abstract’s analysis with specific context. Examples:

      1. ā€œFocus on potential effects for our healthcare clients in California.ā€

      2. ā€œEmphasize implications for marketing and data privacy compliance.ā€

  4. Add additional context

    1. Click the ā€œ+ā€ button located in the bottom of the chat. From there, you may select specified documents from your uploads to be used as context.

  5. Run the Report

    1. Click ā€œCreate Strategy Reportā€. The report may take a couple of minutes to complete as Abstract reads your footprint, your uploads, and all available policy data.

Reviewing the Report

Once complete, your Strategy Report will include
• The full policy summary with jurisdiction and status information
• A clear explanation of strategic risks and opportunities
• Tailored recommendations for engagement, communication, or mitigation
• Linked context from your uploads and public footprint

Reports can be shared with your team, or used to inform client deliverables and internal briefings.

Best Practices

• Add detailed context in your instructions to shape Abstract’s recommendations toward your priorities
• Re-run reports after uploading new materials such as memos or position statements to refresh your strategy analysis
• Use Strategy Reports alongside Impact Reports to move from assessment to action
• Add the analyzed bill to a Tracking Report to monitor its progress
