Policy Discovery Report

How Abstract can help you identify what is currently impacting your organization or specific issue area.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

šŸ’” Generating a Policy Discovery Report may take 1-2 minutes to complete.
Each time you generate a Policy Discovery Report, Abstract re-reads your Public Footprint, your uploaded documents, and all jurisdictions available in your workspace. This ensures your report always reflects the most up-to-date information, but it also means that generation can take a while. Please wait a moment while the system generates the best result.

Overview

Policy Discovery Reports allow Abstract to automatically identify policy items that are relevant to your organization. By reading your Public Footprint and your uploaded materials, Abstract searches across all available jurisdictions to find bills, regulations, or policy proposals that may affect you or your clients.

Each Policy Discovery Report gives you a curated set of policy items that match your organization’s context, helping you stay ahead of emerging legislation and regulatory trends without having to search manually.

How It Works

When you run a Policy Discovery Report, Abstract performs a full read of your data. It reads your Public Footprint, your uploaded files, and all jurisdictions available in your workspace. Using that information, Abstract identifies policy items that appear most relevant to your organization’s operations, industry, and focus areas.

The report provides
• A list of policy items matched to your context
• Short descriptions and status updates for each item
• Jurisdiction and issue area filters for refinement
• Linked references for deeper analysis

Each time you run a Policy Discovery Report, Abstract re-reads your sources to ensure results reflect the most current information.

Once the Policy Discovery Report has been generated, you will see
• A list of relevant policy items ranked by connection to your organization
• Each item’s title, jurisdiction, and summary
• Links to read more, open related bills, or generate Impact and Strategy Reports
• Filters to refine or expand your view

You can export, save, or schedule automatic discovery reports for recurring analysis.

Daily Discovery Reports

Your workspace includes a pre-scheduled Daily Discovery Report. This feature allows you to start each day with an updated list of newly identified policy items relevant to your organization. As you continue uploading materials, Abstract automatically incorporates them into your Daily Discovery results.

Best Practices

• Run new discovery reports after major updates to your uploads or organizational data
• Use natural language for quick, flexible filtering instead of strict keyword lists
• Schedule recurring discovery to stay continuously informed
