Manual Search

How to manually search through bills, regulations, and policy proposals.

Updated this week

Overview

Use Manual Search when you want to find specific items across the coverage you have available in your workspace. Whether you're looking for a specific bill or regulation, Manual Search makes it easy to find items using filters and keywords, without generative AI capabilities.

Instead of using Manual Search, see how you can use advanced AI to find items relevant to you. Learn more about how to generate Discovery Reports in Abstract.

How It Works

Manual search operates without AI capability, removing contextual layers such as your Public Footprint and Uploaded Documents. Manual Search utilizes keywords, status, date, and jurisdiction filters to pinpoint specific bills or regulations you want to to see. With manual search, you can:

Search

  • Search by Bill Number

  • Search by Bill Name

  • Search by Keywords

Filter

  • Filter by Jurisdictions (Federal, State, Local)

  • Filter by Session

  • Filter by Action Type

  • Filter by Date Range

View

  • View Bills, Regulations, Executive Orders, Meeting Agendas, and more.

  • View the latest Actions, Sponsors, and Summary

  • View the latest versions

Save

  • Save your search results or any item in a tracking report.

  • Start a conversation with Abstract's AI from any selected item.
